— Szymon Urbanowicz, the author of the courses and the trainer
My name is Szymon Urbanowicz. I am the author of the courses and the trainer at Oxygrafia.
I bring over 20 years of professional experience, gained both in corporate environments and in smaller companies. During this time, I have become familiar with a variety of tools supporting project execution as well as broadly understood office software. I have a good understanding of both PC and Mac working environments, as well as the everyday challenges faced by users.
I specialize in DTP and prepress for publications and packaging. Since 2002, I have been involved in processes related to preparing and executing print projects — from cooperation with creative teams, through publishers and product companies, to direct contact with printing houses and production. This experience allows me to combine technical knowledge with a practical approach to project execution.
When creating the Oxygrafia brand and deciding to share my experience, I chose to focus fully on client commitment. Through both training delivery and work on specific projects, I have observed that beyond a competitive price, clients value equally important factors: reliable support, practical guidance, early identification of potential issues, and well-considered solution options.
As a trainer, I have been teaching since 2017. Most often, I conduct closed training courses in state institutions and enterprises: from companies with a few employees to large manufacturing plants.
When conducting training, I focus on engaging You as my trainees, getting you interested in the topic by:
…nowadays, at a times when almost all knowledge is widely available on the Internet? It turns out that the basic purpose of education is still the same: to accelerate learning.
Courses are aimed at anyone who doesn’t have the time to laboriously work out a topic from scratch on their own; it is aimed at managers who want to speed up the implementation of a new employee.
In short: professionally conducted training saves Your time.
We encourage you to personalize the content of the training according to the specifics of your team. You can adjust the program to your preferences, for example, by:
In short: it’s a name of a difficulty level that Oxygrafia uses, when refering to Adobe applications. The “core” in the training’s name refers to a crucial essence of tools, skills and procedures which must be mastered, regardless of the specific nature of performed tasks.
In case of Adobe applications, a student must be proficient in all core techniques, before learning enything elese.
Why not just call it “a beginner level”? Because a commonly used categorization (beginner – intermediate – advanced) does not apply to Adobe apps. There are no middle steps between a novice level and “a solid intermediate level”. Yes, there’s a very steep learning curve ahead: a student has to take a one huge step to master core skills – they are all essential.
If You have doubts like: “But I have worked in Adobe application for over two years, surely I can take the advance↑ training!” – don’t be alarmed. First of all, our trainings are always flexible. We never waste Your time on something You already know.
After participating in a “core” training, at least 6 months are required for a new knowledge to settle in. After mastering the material and having some real world practice, You might want to upgrade Your knowledge by taking one of the “advance↑” trainings.
The universal knowledge of a “core“ course may be expanded in many directions. As Oxygrafia specializes in area between artwork creation and printing, allow us to draw Your attention to the training “Prepress for designers”, focusing on cooperation with a printing house and appropriate data preparation.
The training is offered both in English and Polish.
Some of the tools allow quick switching of the interface language PL <--> EN, while for others this requires prior preparation – so please let us know in advance which interface language you prefer during the training.
If necessary, the names of all commands can be given bilingually. In the training practice, the English interface is not an obstacle or hindrance during the classes.
There are two practical limits:
Online / stationary training:
The whole point of a live training is an interaction among the trainer and the students. Optimum group size is 4-7 people. With 8 and more students the interaction is more and more limited. With 12 students and more the training turns in to a lecture, with very limited possibility to ask questions.
Stationery training:
If You choose a stationery form of training at your office, the limit on the number of people is imposed by the size of the conference room.
Crowded ≠ focused.
Online training is a group or individual remote meeting over the Internet using a video conferencing application. We have been successfully conducting classes in this form for several years.
Sometimes clients are concerned that this form of meeting will have reduced training value. These fears have some basis: well, the essence is the proper organization of the training, but after all, the same can be said about stationary training: they too can be organized badly.
So, based on our experience, we draw your attention to key aspects: let the trainees have a similar level of knowledge, let them be relieved of other duties during the training, let them work on two monitors, and finally, let the content of the training be tailored to the expectations of the group.
